As it has done in years past, Apple outlined upcoming new software features coming to the company's current and next-generation products at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Among the announcements was a new feature for AirPods that will allow users to answer phone calls by simply nodding their heads. The feature, which is called "Head Nod Detection," will be available as part of the upcoming iOS 16 update. When enabled, it will allow users to answer incoming calls by simply nodding their heads twice. To hang up a call, users will need to shake their heads twice. Head Nod Detection is a small but potentially useful feature that could make it easier to answer calls while driving, cooking, or otherwise occupied. It's also a sign that Apple is continuing to invest in making its AirPods more versatile and user-friendly. In addition to Head Nod Detection, Apple also announced a number of other new features for AirPods at WWDC 2024. These features include: * Voice Isolation: This feature uses the AirPods' microphones to block out background noise, making it easier to hear the person you're talking to. * Personalized Spatial Audio: This feature uses the AirPods' accelerometers and gyroscopes to track the movement of your head and adjust the sound accordingly, creating a more immersive listening experience. * Improved Siri Integration: AirPods will now be able to respond to a wider range of Siri commands, including the ability to control music playback, make phone calls, and send messages. These new features are expected to be available as part of the iOS 16 update, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
